My interior with Katzkin leather (pics)

Hey guys, just wanted to show off my interior. I bought the Katzkin 2-tone leather kit brand new for an awesome price 2 weeks ago, and I spent the last week putting the leather on myself. It wasnt anything too hard, just time consuming, and I ended up saving 400 dollars, so I'm not complaining. Anyways, on to the pictures:

The 2 colors are dove gray and black. It came out pretty good IMO. It's also comftarble as hell, definetly an awesome upgrade over stock cloth interior.

Also, does anyone have any tips of how to take pics of the interior, I can't find a good angle to take the pictures at.

They definitely look comfortable, but I personally feel that the colors contrast too much to suit my tastes.

If you have a moonroof, you can open it up and take pictures of the back seats from that angle. Just make sure that you don't scratch up your paint when getting on top of the car....

I'm just...not feelin' it. I don't like the wrinkled look in the seats.

Install looks top-notch, but the finish and the color of the seats is just not my style.

So long as you like it, props to you, mang.

Coming from you that install looks good means alot. Regarding the color, I really like it, my car is black, and the dove gray matches the pillars and the headliner, and it gives it nice contrast (even though some people think contrast is bad, I'm sure you've heard comments saying bone white and black are too different to look good) As far as the gathered leather, I kinda agree, the seats look more like they belong in the living room than a car, but it grew on me, and it's really comftarble. I can't really complain for the price I got on the seats (off e-bay for 185 shipped... BRAND NEW)

i really like it! it is a lot of contrast, but for some reason, i think it flows....and believe it or not, i'm a FAN of gathered leather...i just think it looks better for some reason

anyway, excellent job on the install...i was planning on getting new leather, but i decided against it because of the price...

lolz, you guys give me WAAYYYYY too much credit.

You need to get some more pics up to illustrate the contrast! As a recommendation, take some pics with the doors shut and the windows down, easier to get the shot.

The installation is hella tough man, looks fantastic!

to reply to the question: my interior is the dark charcoal/black cloth interior.

The dove gray is half a shade lighter than the headliner and pillars, but it flows nicely. Once the weather gets warmer I'll also do the door panels in dove gray to lighten up the interior a bit. It's actually slightly darker than in the pictrues, the flash made it seem like it's completely white but yeah, I like it, and so do my friends. Even my mom likes it, and she hates anytime I do anything to a car.

then why is mine cracking and wearing where it's never used? my back seat looks pretty scary. i've taken care of it with $$$ leather treatments, i've full dark tint, etc and it's still cracking up by itself..

that's interesting, because very few nissans that i've seen have cracked or dry leather...my mom's leather in her 2000 maxima with 210k miles on it is in better condition than my custom leather that has less than 48k on it (i'm not really sure when it was installed) Her driver's seat bolster isn't wearing like mine is, and the back seat isn't getting dried out from the sun like mine is....

I like this setup. I wouldn't mind installing that in my sunlit sand SE.

well odly enough the drivers and front seat (the ones being used) have kept up nicely. it's the rear one that has had no use that's taking a beating (relatively speaking) compared to even domestics that i've been starring at.

I think they look good! I'm just trying to figure out whether the lighter color is white or light grey? I think they may have looked better with a darker grey. Otherwise nice.

That's because Igor911 paid for a professional to do it whereas GETukranian did it himself. I will agree that the rear seats could have been pulled a bit tighter, but it is a very good installation job nonetheless. It's easy to point out the faults with his installation, however few people call appreciate the effort that goes into installing new seat covers.

the website for the company that made these: http://katzkin.com
Prices are 600-ish and up. I got lucky and got it off ebay brand new for 185 shipped (as already stated in this thread). and siren001, they aren't "seat covers" seat covers are the pepboys crap you buy with a Type-R symbol on it.

As far as fitment goes, its not an A+ quality job, after all, I am not a professional and this was my first time doing it. However, I'd say it's something like an A- quality installation. Oh well, I saved 400 dollars (Actually overall I probably saved 800+ considering I bought the kit for 1/4 the price), got a sense of pride that I did this myself, and yeah, my car looks better. Thanks for all the feedback

The wet okole seat covers, are not " Rice" covers, They are actually made out of wet suit material to your color pref. so it doesnt get hot when ur cars in the sun.

Direct form site.

""Our custom neoprene backed car seat covers are designed to fit every popular model of car, van or truck. They do not get hot in the summer or cold in the winter. They are completely waterproof and fit your seats like a glove. We manufacture our seat covers in the USA using the finest materials. We offer color combinations to match most car interiors. These seat covers are easy to install and use high quality quick connect fasteners and Velcro.

They are designed with separate covers for head rests and arm rests. Our neoprene has nylon bonded to both sides for easier installation, better fit and ultimate protection. We use only the best quality CR 100% neoprene. Others use SBR imitation neoprene.""""

So if you got to the beach a lot, or live near one, i would suggest looking in to those.

i wasn't saying the "Okole covers" are rice, I just said that what I have is not "seat covers" by definition seat covers is anything that covers a seat, my stuff replaced the stock cloth, so its not a seat cover.
