Damn those look nice! This may have to be the first thing I do to my Max when I finally get one! The only thing I don't understand is can you install these yourself, or do they have to be sent in somewhere to do it?

Its going to be hard for me but i guess its worth it. Because i felt happy as hell just changing my spark plug recently for the first time ever
But please answer my question.

thanks
you are not supposed to put it in the inner circle...it should go in the outer circle...however...if you have an H1-size bulb kit then you would put it in the inner one...if you have an H3-size bulb kit then you would put it in the outer one. btw the reason why some people have done retros with these lights to get HID bulbs to fit is because the HID bulbs are significantly longer than normal halogen H3 size bulbs and thus do not fit inside. I know for a fact that an H1 HID bulb will fit (pure plug and play) in the inner circle's housing...the reason why an H3 bulb wont fit in the outer circle is because the projector is placed too far back and the front of the bulb can fit in behind the housing.

Hey Sticky,

I am just getting started on my 5th Gen. How hard was it to change over to the angel eyes? Do you get a light module and just Remove & replace the factory stuff? Please advise.

you can make what ever kinda eyes you want , theres plenty of tutorials , you can use a clear Stick thing from blinds , melt it and bend it around your projector that you want it on , let it dry , Then cut the extra stick off , and then take it off the projector , And use a dremil tool and cut little lines front side up , And led it up. Kinda hard to explain with out pictures , They also sell the eyes at places like advance auto , But they may not fit on your projectors.

No they would not fit OEM 2K housings.
They only fit OEM 02-03 housings.
btw where exactly would you mount them on a OEM 2K housing? Dont forget you need a circular-type surface to adhere them to in order to give the halo-effect.

go to:
http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm

use red or blue LEDs.

It would be a lot of work to do that to 02/03 headlights, lots of drilling etc. etc. I would not suggest it.

Falken-Maxima, first of all if you dont already have them (i noticed you have a 2001) your going to need a set of 02-03 headlights which will run you around $1200-$1300 dollars from nissan...the DDE's will not fit the 00-01 headlights...as far as getting them installed....your best bet is going to be searching the org to find someone close to your area that has done it before...some people on here have done a few sets and may be willing to install them for you for a price...i dont know anyone off the top of my head in your area but your best bet is to post in the regional forums and maybe someone can help you out...hope this helps a little..

you can find a few guys here who will install them for you if you're willing to remove your lights and send them to them. if you look here on the org, you can find the lights for about 600 for the pair...i assume you already have them since you bought the DDE's. Nissan won't do this for you. I will do it if you have taken the lights out of the car and send the rings and lights to me. you will still have to hook them up to the car though. if you don't have any experience hooking things up to an existing system, as a friend who does know and the install should be easy... the other option is Matt at um nitza told me he has found a wireless solution to the DDE's and is working on making a kit with the wireless option so the install of the rings is all you have to do and then hook up a positive and ground to the battery...the switch is plugged into the lighter and you turn them on and off. you could check that out.

Falken, I hope you got the kit with the cold-weather ballasts (are those even out yet?). Because if you live in Ottawa those DDEs are not going to work very well when the cold weather is around (I live in Toronto, I know about COLD). Worse yet, I've heard the cold weather destroys the normal ballasts completely.

cold-weather ballasts

Would um nitza exhange the normal ballasts for them cold-weather ballasts or would i have to buy them. As for the wiring i'm chooseing the 3rd option (wiring to a switch).

I love this mod and I want to do it and clear out the orange, but my car has data dots and I'm not sure I can do it. To the people who installed the dde's that have data dots, was it that much harder to get the lights out of the car and put them back in?

You have any straight on shots of the front? I was thinking about painting mine white and I want to just see a clearer pic of how they look.
