Trimming 3/8 off front hub?

I found info on this for 4 gen so I think this may be doable but wanted to make sure the 5th gen isnt different. I installed the replica g35 today and love the look. To keep the center cap on I needed put on wheel spacers. I want to trim about 3/8 of an inch off the front hub but leave plenty of room for the codder pin to stay in place. Is this doable? Any downside and anything I should be careful of? Wasnt sure if this should go in wheel forum...

Thanks for the help.

I ran into the same problem and said the hell with it. I bought different 18s instead. The wheel spacers they sent were not hubcentric. GL but I wouldn't do it. Some people have apparently made this work. Perhaps they can help.....

Try posting this in the tire/wheel forum.

I had that problem on mine with my 19's too. I just hit the cap with a hammer till the wheel and centercap fit. It's just a grease cap.
