I noticed that my bumper had a rust spot on it when I looked close I see the trunk lid is rubbbing.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks,
Fast Walker

Yes. And there's a TSB on it. Check the "Technical Service Bulletins inside . . ." sticky post at the top of the 5th Gen page.

I concur with y2kse that there is a TSB for that. I took my car to the dealer three times about this only to get the run around about parts being backordered, they ordered the wrong parts, etc. Finally, they said they'd call when the right parts came in: I never heard from them.

Do a search for a recent post by blackY2kmax and you'll see where he had the necessary work done, but now things they simply repainted the bumper.

Mdeal is right - I got the work done, but the scratches are back in full force. Contacted my dealer and surprise, surprise - they said there's nothing they can do about it now. They fixed it and now it;s bad again so they said it must be something I'm doing. But, there is a TSB - there are 'supposed' to be new clips - I think there are because some people didn't get the scratches back. So, good luck.

I had the new clips installed last week and they repainted my bumper as part of the fix. They did a great job on the paint (I had my front bumper done at the same time so no more paint chips ) but the scratches are back again . I've asked the service manager to find out if there is an updated TSB which uses a different set of clips.

Someone here on the board helped me -y2kse, I think, and through him I found out that another TSB was not issued. What happened was that the original parts were supposed to have fixed it. When they didn't, Nissan redesigned the new clips to completely fix it - the kicker is that they used the same part number. If your dealership ordered the same part number then and again now, they would have a slightly different clip. Of course when I told this to my dealer, he knew nothing about it and said they weren't going to do anything. So, I'm stuck. When I got mine done, they also repainted my back bumper and did a great job - I should have done what you did and had my front bumper redone. Oh, well, I fight that battle this week. Good luck getting your dealer to understand that the original part number didn't work, and they need to reorder the same part number to get the right clips and they are still responsible for fixing it. That seems to be too high-level for most of our worthless Nissan Service people to handle (except for the one dealership who told me all this information and they seem to get it - too bad they are 2 time zones away from me!)

Same here. I was one of the first to get mine fixed. Didn't someone say that Nissan made new clips that make the clearance greater? I think the original fix kit didn't work as well. These little nagging Nissan problems are REALLY annoying. They get 95% of the car right, but the other 5% drives you crazy.
