question to the masters of 5th gens..

My household is one of 3 vqs. Currently i am having a problem with my mothers 01 Maxima. Heres the story the car just came back from the dealership a;; fixed up. Today my stepfather drove it down 40 miles to work all was well. He got in his car to come home and voila it would not start. the battery was not dead even with jumping it nothing. I believe it may have to do with that key security thing but my stepfather says it is sparking from wherever the other end of the positive battery terminal cable leads into. Can someone help me figure out what this can be and if it can be fixed by just DIY. I would really hate for this to become a serious problem

From: Auburn WA,
Sparking from where the other end of the positive terminal goes? Make sure there is no short...Then check fuses and relays.
