how to prevent bolts from snapping off!?

how to prevent bolts from snapping off!?

i was putting on my catback and in order to connect the b-pipe to the cat i had to take the heat shield on the cat off, well, i put some pb spray on it and used a wrench and the bolt just frickin came off, i didnt touch the other 3 i dont wanna f them up, guys got any suggestions how i can safely takem off? thanks

I've had that problem with about 50% of the bolts on my max as well. I really wonder if it's me or just shoddy materials.

Just had that happen actually, the head just popped off with like 20 lbs. The way I have dealt with this is to buy a reverse bit, drill a small hole into the actually screw body, and drill (it would be counterclockwise) into that whole with the anti bit which then turns it out as it tightens

I have always had good luck using a torch to heat them up first...not too hot just good and warm to let them break free
