Question for those with 5mm wheel spacers in the front

I recently acquired some 5mm Eibach wheel spacers to install with my front wheels. Pretty much EVERY post that I've searched, read, etc. about folks with 5mm spacers says that you don't need to install longer wheel studs.

Now, that said, these 5mm spacers came with longer studs. Of course, the instructions say to install the longer studs. Me being me, I decided to mount one up and see what it looked like all put together on stock wheel studs.

Well, it looked great, but I felt very uncomfortable with how little thread the lugnut seemed to be holding on to. There was about 5mm (duh) of lugnut not holding onto the wheel stud threads.

Is that how everyone else has their mounted? Seems awful unsafe to me (and as such, I took it off). Is there any kind of science as to how little is too little or anything like that?

Really I'm looking for an excuse to take the easy way out here, but I'd rather install the longer studs if safety is a serious concern.

Don't take the chance you've got the longer studs, the old ones aren't difficult to take off, better to be safe than sorry. I don't have them on my car but I did go through a whole mess with spacers on the front of my 4th gen when I installed my BBK
