on the OTTO bar. Great bar at a great price.

Only issue I've had is that it rubs a bit on the fire mat under the hood, but no knocking what so ever.

I have the ebay cheapy on both my 5th & 4th gen no mount or noise troubles at all!

But IMO the Otto ( Stillen copy) looks nicer.

So, it doesnt really seem to matter which one we get right? Expensivo Stillen or Cheapo Ebay? Just a bar to keep the strut towers apart? Why would we get an expensive one?
I guess my ques is "which ones knock?"

I personally really like the Custom Maxima one. I got mine on sale so it was pretty cheap and it is really stiff.

I also felt a difference... Not a HUGE difference but mostly in nice sweeping turns the front end felt more planted.

Yeah, there is a definite difference made with the addition of a strut brace.

I didnt really notice that much of a difference in the twisties, but thats probably because the Eibachs take care of that.

I felt the biggest difference on the highway and over bumps. the car feels more composed.

And the only reason to buy an expensive bar is either for the name (stillen), or weight savings (Cattman). I love the design of the Cattman and the fact that it's titanium, but I couldn't justify spending $200 on a FSTB.

My .02

I had the ebay one and even with washers it rubbed slightly when I put car in reverse. Haven't put one on my 6sp yet but will probably go with CE. There located in Conn. and I always get my order next day.

If I remember correctly, only 5.5 gens have issues with knocking and even those are few and far between.

Yup...that's what I have and I got it on Ebay. I have a 2000 SE and I have no problems at all with the bar...fits perfectly and no knocking sounds when in reverse. Great quality bars for a great price.

I went with the OTTO FSTB about 3 months ago. It works great and I don't have any knocking problems at all. I bought it off Ebay, just under $50.00 with shipping, but it is a nice quality bar. I would reccommend it to anyone.

If you think about it its just a means to keep the strut towers apart, no need to spend a fortune on it. just as long as it fits. well, then theres the cosmetic aspect.
id make one myself if i had access to a length of aluminum, the machinery, time, expertise, patience ...
...the ce one looks nice.
