Brake nightmare

HELP! Every time I hit the breaks, they squeak like a *****! I've replaced the pads with good ones to no avail. It's torture to drive like this! I've scoured the forum for answers but haven't found anything. Any ideas?

Get your rotors turned and when you put your calipers back on make sure to use grease on the sliding bolts...Should fix your problem.

Go to your local brake shop, and let them cut your rotors,,,,,,,,,,,, I woudn't think that it costs more than new rotors!

I think o'reillys does it for around $10 a rotor or something like that..if you have one locally.....
Or call just about any backyard mechanic..If business is slow and they have a brake lathe they may turn them for $50 for all 4.

Is it necessary to replace the pads again after the rotors are turned?

Check this out: I had to make a panic stop yesterday in traffic and afterwards, my brakes didn't squeak at all! WTF??? Maybe I burned the coating of sh** off the rotors? Oh well, I'm gonna get the rotors turned anyways...

Did you put anti-squeek grease on when you did the pads? What sort of pads do you have (ceramic pads love to squeek!)? Turning the rotors might help but it may be something as simple as a $1 packet of grease or it might be the pads themselves.

What are "good ones" in terms of pads? Which did you install?

I didn't put the grease on. Also, the pads I used were the expensive ceramics at Oh oh oh O'Reillys. Can't recall the brand...

I'd think you'd want to hold off on getting them turned now. Reducing the mass of your rotors makes them heat up faster. If you've gotten rid of the squeal, my 2 cents would wait to see how things go for a few weeks.
