Neoprene is a generic term for non-natural, manmade, synthetic "rubber". All the black "rubber" like components on your car are neoprene. The flexible exhaust hangars, stabilizer bushings, CV joint boots, engine mounts (except auto front and rear), door seals, grommets etc. are all made out of "neoprene". Some high temp. silicone neoprene is red/orange in color to indicate that it can handle higher temps.
