Issue with Heated Seats

Hey,
I just picked up my Maxima and I noticed on the drivers side the back heater works, but the base doesn't. Does know how difficult of a repair this is? Am I stuck having to get a new seat or can I just replace the heating element?
Sorry if this is a repost, but I am unable to run a search due to access restrictions so I posted this.

Thanks!
Sari

I'm pretty sure just the heating element can be repaired, but it will cost a lot from the dealer.

You will need a new seat heater pad for the lower cushion. You will have to remove your leather cover off the seat by cutting the hawgreens that hold it on. Then you will need new hawgreens and special hawgreen pliers to put the cover back on. Its not a terrible job to do, you will need to remove the seat out of the car completly and then dissasemble it. I've never done one on a Maxima, but I have done lots of Acura seats at work.
