made a board for the trunk

since that factory board in the trunk almost always breaks i wanted to find one that doesnt sag so easily. picked up a 2x4 piece of 1/4 inch temp board and cut out using the original as template. made the holes for those plastic pieces and screwd them on. cut out edges for a better fit. only problem is that since its only 24 in long it doesnt cover the very top of the spare tire well (gotta get a pic of that) there is maybe a 3-4in gap, but it does the job!here is pics of board itself: http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/570891/3

i have a little bit of a different concept in mind..i was going to saw a similar shape of the original fabric piece, and insert my own hinged trap-door type deal for the spare tire place. carpeted top will keep stuff from sliding around. i will probably airbrush the uncovered trunk so it isnt noticeable.

Nice, something I've been wanting to do for awhile.
My crappy stock board is sagging too.

i'm a delivery driver for Dominos, so when i put the pizzas back there, its a nice little nook so they dont fly when i drive erratically, but its a major cosmetic concern. lol

I did this to my 4th gen except i cut a peice the shape of the carpet, then cut that into three pieces cuz it wouldn't fit. It had a door to get to the spare and it made my trunk look alot cleaner cuz I adhered carpet to it. I'm planning on doing this, in the summer to my 5.5 gen cuz that factory crap sux. I also put strips of foam padding so the wood wouldn't knock against the metal. Good luck with your project and keep us updated.
