4th Gen intake on a 5th Gen

I tried searching for retrofits but to no end. I'm tring to figure out how much work it would take to convert a Ebay 4th Gen intake too a 5th Gen?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8044314264

The reason for this is there are a thousand kits for $10 for the 4th Gens and 0 for the 5th Gens. I'm not about to send $300 on an ingen.

The MAF sensor bolt pattern is different, other than that, they're essentially the same thing.

Stillen POP is the same except for the MAF adapter.. same for berk etc..

BTW, what intakes are made for 4th gens that aren't made for 5th gens?

I guess the no Named brands like the one in my (1st post) the link, I wonder if I could just drill a couple of holes into the MAF adapter and mount it

I would buy a WAI but the cheapest I can find them for is $150(including filter & MAF adapter). Thats why I wanna be a Cheap A$$ and covert an Ebay WAI from a 4th to a 5th gen for $14

yes you can make it work, but you'd have to get the MAF adapter for a 5th gen, but the piping will work fine. also most of those ebay intakes are a true cold air and you can make them work. i did on my car.

You guys wan't a cheap intake?

This is what I did:

1) Buy a Berk midpipe from Bryan for $65 shipped (mention .org)

2) Buy an RTec #6 adapter and ghey foam filter from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-...QQcmdZViewItem

3) Buy a 3" JWT lookalike filter from ebay that comes with a 4th gen MAF adapter, yes even though it says 2000-up the adapter does not fit our MAF's.: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-04...spagenameZWDVW

Fellas, sorry but I am learning as I go.

Can't I just connect the filter via the MAF adapter to the MAF or do I NEED a Midpipe??

Yes, you can connect it to the MAF without a midpipe.

Check out my car before I got my midpipe:

Afterwards, more mods and installed with a Berk midpipe:
