Exhaust ?

O.K., I know this is probably a worn out question, but can anyone point me in the right direction for choices and sound clips on exhaust systems. It's time to replace the factory! Many Thanks!

Thanks for the clips! I am looking for a nice deep sound not too over powering. I have a franken car b pipe w/ a JMT filter. I kind of like the Frankencar cat back. Anyone have any opinions on that?

Does anyone know if Frankencar is still producing these cat back systems anymore? I tried calling the main line only to get a disconnected message then tried to call the second man in charge and got his V.M.

Frankencar makes em in waves and disappears every so often because this is their side business (they all have other full time jobs). They may have a batch ready in the near future, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it. They do make GREAT parts and for reasonable prices so if you do get a hold of them or one of their cat-backs, you won't regret it.

And one more time for good measure:

Cattman is probably the best choice for A33 (IMHO)

Doesn't look rice - actually looks kind of stock from a distance - but yet, it's not.

love both frankencar and cattman, went with the frankencar due to price. never a single reget, but if u go frankencar make sure to get newer or better hangers, otherwise ull get noises.

sfor the hangers you dont need to buy new ones unless you want to spend the money. if you want to save money then buy metal hose clamps and put them around your oem hangers.

heres a pic of the metal hose clamps to put around your oem hangers:

And here's what they look like on the OEM hangers:

Or just get some Nismo or Napa rubber hangers to replace the stock hangers; they are stiffer and hold the rear section in place better.

or spend like 5 dollars and get 5 clamps and save yourself the extra money used on the aftermarket hangers

4 total. 3 on the rear section and 1 on the b-pipe.

In addition to buying directly from Cattman, you can also buy it from www.sportcompactonly.com. Talk to Steve G (Y2KseSteve).

Also, look around the Stickies a bit for answers to your questions:

Theres a sticky with a bunch of clips.........but keep in mind that your car won't sound exactly like the others, unless all your mods are like theirs.

BTW if you have a Frankencar B-pipe, why don't you just get the missing parts to complete a Frankencar cat-back?

My first choice is to buy the Frankencar cat-back, but I can't get intouch with the people at Frankencar. I can't wait either, my hanger is broken on the oem b-pipe...rusted right off!

You could do the custommaxima thing and get duals, but dont buy the cattman from them as it can be found cheaper elsewhere.

So, i just got my Frankencar catback installed. I think i should have installed some new hangers at that point because i can hear some rattling going on in the rear. Is it a pain to replace all 4 hangers. Do you need to take off the whole catback again? Thanks!

No. Just jack the rear end up and you should be able to reach all of em. You'll have to get under the car to get to the b-pipe hanger though.

I say just try hoseclamps for the hangers on the rear section first:

If that doesn't work then try getting the stiffer rubber hangers.

Darn, I was trying to get the rear section from him too. Oh well.

I'm not sure what size hoseclamps, because Frankencar included them with the cat-back when I bought it. It doesn't really matter though, as long as they are big enough to fit over the hangers, you are gonna tighten em anyways.

Yes, I bought a FC cat-back some time back but sold the rear, and now I want one back.

This solution is the exact same one that I used on all my hangers and it works great. Cheap and it took less than 5 minutes to do.

you should try and test fit it on the rear hanger and see if it fits. if not just go return them and get the bigger size
