Motor Mounts easy to change?

My motor mounts are shot on my 2K0 I30! The motor jumps all over the place.

1. How many of them do I need to replace? I count 3. One front, back and right side. Are there any more, like on the transmission?

2. Are they are the same part number?

3. Are they easy to replace?

4. We is a good place to buy these?

Thanks!

1. I assume you're replacing just the motor mount inserts. Front and back are the most crucial and are typically what is replaced.

2. Energy Suspension sells these in pairs.

3. They are easy if you have access to a machine press or at least a shop with one. If not, then you'll have to torch/burn the OEM ones out (very messy) and then saw out the metal sleeve left behind (taking care not to cut into the motor mount bracket.

4. You can get OEM inserts at most dealerships. For the ES inserts:

Thanks for the link to the thread! Lots of great information.

Does it cost that much more to buy the complete mount, bracket and all?

Is the front and back the same bracket?
Thanks!!!!

Seems that you're just going to replace it with OEM inserts then?

I doubt mounts are that expensive, try calling a dealership, junkyard, or our OEM parts guy, Dave Burnette. Dave's number is in the FAQs.

For a good junkyard database: www.car-part.com

I think so, but verify with a dealership or Dave B.

Yep. I think I want the oil filled. Everythingnissan shows the price at $106 for OEM engine mounts. I am not sure if these are inserts or the complete bracket.

I ordered OEM mounts with brackets from Everytingnissan. About $300 total.

They are electronically controlled! There is a box on both the front and rear mount with a wire harness. Does anyone know what this does? I am very curious. Electronic engine mounts. It kinda sounds like blinker fluid, or a can of compression. I never thought that I would have to plug my mounts in.

No wonder they cost so much!

I installed the mounts. It was easy. Took about 3 hrs total. The rear mount was broke. The front mount was fine. I replaced them both anyway.

Thanks for the info.

Replacing the mount was easy?? What kind of tools are needed to do that job. I have a whiny mount....not that it doesn't work, but after you shut off the engine you can still hear it going for a sec or two. I remember asking the cost to replace it at the dealer and he gave me some outrageous price, but said as long as you can stand the whine it won't hurt anything.

17 mm 1/2 drive socket and wrench is really all you need. A jack to support the motor.

Unscrew the two motor mount thru bolts, then unscrew the four cross member bolts and the whole cross member drops. Two bolts each fasten the mounts to the cross member.

The hardest part was plugging them in. Fishing the wires thru to their connections.

I still have the old front mount which is in good shape.
