brake pads

I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong sect. but I've looked on the tire/wheel sect. and couldn't find anything that indicates it's also for brakes. Ok this is my question I just got new cross drill/slotted rotors front/back and want to change em tomorrow but I have no idea as to what kind of brakes to get cause of all this brands and from where is the best place, I live close to Pepboys, Kragen autoparts & Autozone, I just want to replace the rotors and add new brake pads. Since I've never done this I have search on the how-to's and got directions and I'm pretty set for tomorrow but I need to get the brake pads. Any sug.?

if you want good performance but don't mind dusting...go with hawk or ebc green stuff
if you aren't no speed-ricer and drive a maxima like a normal person, stick with OEM or akebono.

raybestos makes great oem replacement pads. haw hps are excellent higher performace pads, but they run more than the pads at the auto parts store.

When you replace your pads make sure you pay attention to how the little spring spacers go in....I did not and had to take the other wheel off to figure it out. Made me wanna kick my own a$$.

I'd assume any new pads will still need to use the spring spacers.

hell yes. i didn't even realize they were there the first time i changed my pads. i used a hammer to slightly beat in my pads into the caliper bracket. i ended up getting the retainer clip all bent out of shape. it took me a while to reshape it and get the pads in.

I know everyone on here says putting new pads on a Max is easy, but it was a little harder for me for some reason. I was just changing a wheel stud and had to take the caliper off so I could knock it out the back....well, when I tried to put it back on their wasn't enough spacing between the pads, so I had to take em out and use a c-clamp to push the piston back. Putting those suckers back in was like playing operation....tight fit not made any easier by those spacers springs.
