Brake work

Hi everyone, I havent logged onto this site since June 2004 so I am a little bit rusty.

Basically what I am looking for is new Rotors and brake pads for my 02 Max SE. I have done a search for brake and rotor information on the forum and hit thousands of results. I looked through as much as I could in an hour and didnt find much that really helped. So if you have information on any of the below information, I would greatly appreciate it. I need an item, Part number, and a URL link for that item because I am on a government laptop and cant resources as well as I would like. If you dont want to put Part numbers and stuff I understand that it is a lot of work to get that info in here so dont sweat it to much. Just would be nice. So a URL link would be greatly appreciated.

I need:

1) New front brake pads.
2) New front rotors.

I am running on a budget of about $180-$200. If it even goes a bit above that I understand that I will have to make up something somewhere, but as much as possible, I would like to stay in that range. I want to get the best that I can for the money.

Also, does anyone have a very detailed step by step instructions that they could link to me? Pictures would be great to because I would love to do this on my own.

Thanks a ton guys and I really appreciate any help that anyone gives me. I wont actually be doing this install until the 24th becuase I am in an Army school right now and wont be back to Vegas until then. Thanks again guys.

Check out the GD forum. I would go with Hawk HPS pads and almost any rotor will be fine. Some run chepo Napa rotors and love them.

The pads are what is important, the HPS pads dont cause the "warped" feeling and stop really well.

BTW; for install instructions, I would find a full service manual for the car, it's not a bad thing to have.

I love my HPS pads. Most will tell you that if you are not racing and you need street pads, it is hard to beat the Hawk HPS.

Alright, u sold me on the HPS pads so far. I found some online for $65 shipped. That the best price I have found for them so far. Now the thing that I need is a good place for rotors

I checked out rockauto.com and didnt really like it at that site very much. Wasnt clear on if they were ordered individually or if they come in pairs. Plus if they were ordering it in pairs, then it was coming to 50-60 per rotor. 120 total for rotors. Anyone know a product simular that might be a little lower in cost? Thanks

For that thread post that you just showed me, the rotors in there on average were $172 before shipping. Is that about the expected price for rotors?
