I've gripped before about the little black dots on my car. Well, I washed my baby today and decided to wipe her down with a dry cotton cloth BEFORE I washed it to see if the black dots came off easier and THEY DO. They just wipe right off. When they are on there when washing the car, it takes an act of GOD to remove them but when dry, they just wipe off. No ill effects. Just thought I would pass that info along to the others having the same dot problem!

That sounds like tar or sap on your car. I know some varieties I have gotten on my car come off easier dry than wet (were they smear).

There is a tree I park near that sort of rains microscopic sap drops on my car. I can see it on the windshield.

Anyway, just a thought...

It's road tar, no tree's where I park during the day and if at home, she's snug in the garage.

I hope they don't create swirls. I just know they come off SO EASY when dry and they smear a little. I immediately wash the car afterwards though.

Get a clay bar and they will come off even easier and with less friction on your paint. Just a thought.

Just a note to you guys whiping the car before washing it, especially with a dry cloth. NEVER, EVER wipe a car with a dry cloth, dry towel, dry sponge, ANYTHING dry! Besides that it only MOVES dirt and dust around and scratches the paint because of it, it does cause swirls and other paint problems. At least try a damp cloth or shammee before doing it dry.
