Check Engine Light PLEASE HELP

Last weekend a family member used my car for a one houre trip. After they filled up on gas, the check engine light came on so he re-opened and closed the cap.................but the light is still on. 1) Should I disconnect the battery over night, 2) and where can I get my computer scaned (besides at a local stealership)?

Go to your local Autozone, they have code readers. just tell them your probelm, and they will check it for free. I had the same story, mine turned out to be a old and tired O2 sensor.

most of the time its for the one of the O2 sensors reading to lean or high voltage, just check it out at your local autozone for free and if it is that then don't worry about it. the computer will reset itself after a few drive cycles.
