Hearing rattling when Gas is pushed half way...

I dunno if I just never noticed this but im pretty sure it just started... When I press the gas about half way it makes with clinking/rattling sound and if I press it a little more I dont hear it anymore... Kind of worries me and I couldnt find any posts on org. with google so I was wondering if you guys new what it is... or any idea of what it is. Thanks.

I seem to be having this issue as well. Anyone got any ideas?

If its an auto then it may be the transmission like mine, youlll notice it start and end around 1700rpm to 2000 rpm.. mostly 2 nd gear in mine, just drive the tranny till it dies..

nah its not its very very common among the maxies. if you listen closely its coming from underneath the car just about right below the back seat? i believe its just the exhaust system tapping on the firewall. someone I knew bent the firewall away a touch and never had the noise again

Hmmm... Maybe your right, I think I remember hearing my cousins Max making the same noise which is also auto... Ill look into it.

there was a pretty long thread on this a while back but i don't think anyone figured out what it was. i can't remember if it was only happening to autos or not. i have an auto and i have the problem too, it really annoys me on LONG drives because thats when it seems to happen more frequently. anyway, a lot of people on the boards refer to it as the 'rattling sound around 2k rpms when under load'... it pisses me off too, i need to find a dealership that will deal with it because it seems most dealers pretend to not know what the problem is... let's find a solution already!

(i hope it is indeed the exhaust hitting something like someone said but i'm too lazy right now to go outside and try anything)
