For those with cleared out turn signal lens in HID's, what bulbs are you using?

For about a year now, since I cleared the turn signal in my HID's, I've been running chrome 7440 amber bulbs to have a stealth look. But, these bulbs aren't exactly bright during the daylight hours. I am looking more of a brighter amber bulb, while still keeping that stealth look. I have also bought those "chrome dome" bulbs from autolumination which light up much more brightly than the fully chrome ones, but it leaves an amber reflection in the lens. Anyone with 7440 amber LED's? If so, what kind and how many LED's in the bulb? Are they bright? How are the ones with the LED's fully wrapped around the bulb? I fully understand if I go the LED route, I have to install a load resistor, which is not a problem. Please share your inputs. Thanks!

I got the Chrome-Amber bulbs from autolumination. The light isn't really as bright as the stock ones (doesn't flash as bright) but it does its job.

I also have the chrome-amber bulbs. No nasty looking amber color when off.

Chrome amber bulb, just like the guys above. I agree they're a bit more dim than I would prefer; I sometimes wonder if people can see them flashing during the day. But, they do look a lot nicer than actual amber bulbs would when they're off, so I'd buy them again.

yeah like above, I have the chrome amber bulbs, got mine from ebay for like $13 shipped, but I to also wonder if people can see them during the day, they are pretty dim.
I was considering trying out an amber LED, but I have not had good experience with the LED's like the 9 bulb ones I have in the running lights to attempt to match the HID's (they don't) the one falls out all the time, and the other one just died/broke/burnt up??? (guess thats what u get from ebay)

Just keep the crome ones. Thats what i have, i used led's there are a b!tch to get to stay in and look the same as the bulbs i have. You need to buy something else so they blink normally when they are on if you want led's

I know you guys are talking about bulbs, but does anybody have any instructions on how to clear the turn signals. I want to do it really bad but I have no clue how to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The stickies and www.innerbean.com/housecor are your friends. The website has several excellent how-tos for 5.5 gen Maxes. Good luck!

Those are my turn signals. They put out more light than most cars on the road do.

I'm running projectors in there. :P j/k

I don't have a lense. It's just cleared out. So the light pours out. It's pretty damn nice, actually. Especially at nights -- people see me all the time.

Can anybody post actual link to the chrome bulb that blinks amber? I can't find it on autolumination.com

Also, what bulbs do you use for rear if you have 00-01 SE tails and don't want amber in your lens when its off?

I'm going to run the chrome tops from Autolumination, if my damn DDE's ever get here from Umnitza! I ordered them over a week ago and they're still not here. I think the stupid Post Office lost them.

PS, Housecor, if you read this thread, I just want to let you know how excellent your site is. Your Max will soon have a double in Colorado.

http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

Go there and Ctrl+F search for either "Chrome Dome" or "Silver Chrome." Seems there are now two types of Chrome covered bulbs...
