Cali spec vs Fed spec

Would it be advantageous to get a fed spec maxima instead of a cali spec maxima? I hear that the 2001 models are all cali spec while there are some 2000 models that are cali spec while most are fed spec. Is there a difference in performance between the two? Would one be easier to mod than the other or more responsive to mods than the other? thx

The extra pre-cat in a Cali spec car might be an extra thing to fail and throw a code, but it hasn't really proven to be a hindrance to performance or "modding". I guess if you get headers, a Cali spec car has one more secondary O2 sensor to worry about it, but that's it really.

Desert Pearl converted his 2000 Cali to Fed spec by basically replacing the front pre-cat with a Fed manifold and didn't see much difference on a dyno. More info on this can be found in the FAQs or How Tos.

First off plz post pics of what this looks like.
Second in order to install that fed spec on a cali spec you would have to remove the pre cat and have the fed spec oem headers. Did you do that???
Third did you use a oem crush gasket that goes in to the seal between the ypipe and header.
Fourth who did you buy this y-pipe front???
Fifth and once AGAIN PLZ POST SOME PICS of this.
