Lower Tie Bar? Help...
Lower Tie Bar? Help...
I took my Stage 1 LTB, to the mechanic shop today, and he said he couldnt put it on because the Automatic Transmission was in the way of the Socket wrench and the bolt that goes into the bar.. And i looked underneath also, and it looked correct of what he was saying. Does anybody have any comments to this, on thier 5th gen Auto Transmission?
arnold....look on the invoice you got with the LTB...there should be a site for installation (not sure if matt wants it publicly advertised) and it tells you what you have to do for automatics....
I had the same problem. You have to just loosen those 4 bolts on the lower control arm bracket...right under where is says "transverse link" in the picture....don't remove them, just loose them. I then used a bar to pry the lower control arm assembly down and away from the transmission just enought to get a socket on the bolt and tighten the Stage I bar. I used air tools so it was really easy. Make sure you get the bolts holding the Stage I bar good and tight. There is a noticable difference in handling....much sharper steering response.
