2000 fog light assembly removal

Is there a how-to on fog light removal for 2000-2001 Max
I've seen Matt and housecor's

http://www.moodym.com/maxima/tech/foglight.html
http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/piaa_fogs.html

but they are for 2k2-2k3 and the ones on 2000 are a bit different.

I'm having trouble getting it off... I believe there are 2 plastic clips on the top half of the assembly holding it in place but I'm having trouble getting them free so I can take the assembly out.

I believe you need to use a screwdriver to pry the clip loose in order to release the assembly.

I'm mistaken - you need to tap the tabs with a hammer - see this thread:

I replaced the bulbs on my 2k a couple of months ago and could not remember exactly what was different from the links you posted.

Hope this helps.

mkae it a lil easier on urself, just take out ur headlights then u can pop the preassure clips from above. u still have to unscrew that one screw fromt he bottom but the hard part is pushing the assembly out the front of the car. its worth the 5mins it takes to take the headlights off. ull keep ur knuckles and sanity

The fogs are easy to take out. It just takes some time and slight muscle to get them out. All you do is take a few screws out where the liner is underneath the car to access the fogs. Remove the bottom mounting screw from foglamp. Now push real hard in a forward direction towards the front of the car (the front bumper). You need to push hard to loosen the fog light assembly from the two white clips holding it in. Another way, like someone else said, you can take out the headlamps and access the fogs from there. But you still need to remove the bottom mounting screw from underneath.

It takes no talent or muscle to remove the fogs...

Remove the splash shield under them, disconnect the harness, remove the screw from the bottom, then you will see two "buttons" through white plastic holders; take a screw driver and push right on one of them and it will come right out.
