Performance Parts questions

Hey, I recently purchased a 00 maxima se 5 speed after selling my 97 5 speed.

I want to do alittle work to it this summer....I am a college student so i dont have a ton of money to get a turbo and swap the engine right now but i am lookin to spend about$2000-$2500...I am looking to do Intake/Exhaust/Headers/y-Pipe/B-Pipe...can i hear a few suggestions on what brands to get and where is the best place on the internet to buy from? and if n e 1 has any other ideas on what to buy

I am looking into a cattman intake, Greddy Evo-2 Exhaust, Cattman headers and y-pipe and not really sure about the b-pipe

Please leave me some comments with suggestions...thanks

Also, i was reading up about the Jet Chip...i heard its a great bang-for-your-buck performance part but i dont wanna send away my chip...i wanna know if n e company sells a performance chip where they send u another chip and u dont need to send in yours...please respond...thankx

Jet Chip = GARBAGE! If you want a ECU upgrade - to a Technosquare ECU.

For bolt on mods, deal with the manufacturers directly.

For Cattman parts deal with Brian Cattman - look up the website

I suggest a short-ram intake such as Berk - deal with Bryan directly.

My setup is in my sig below. I bet many of the forum members agree that they are quality parts.

i don't believe there is an ECU upgrade for the 99-01 maxima's. as far as getting the most for the money, do a ypipe, with cat back and then do some suspension mods. and if you still want to go faster get a nitrous kit. but really if you want help in choosing parts use the search feature. there are a ton of threads about this topic. everyone is bias towards the brand that they bought. and everyone has a different opinion. just check it out yourself and go from there.

You can drop it less than 1.5 inches and be alright with alignment. Also, if you pay for unlimited alignments you can get them whenever you want for free for up to three years depending on the shop. Doesn't make sense in improving an aspect of the car that is already relatively superior to another aspect you aren't tackling. My 2 cents.

Agreed.

I'm dropped about 1.5 all round and haven't needed an alignment. Although I should get one soon.

IMO, the stock suspension on these cars suck, and if ya want to make em faster, it'll be in your interest to make em handle and stop better too.
