most dynos showed crank horsepower was overrated and torque was underrated for the 3.5s. the norm has been around 245hp for a stock 3.5.

I was just doing the math earlier that was 20% parasitic loss on the auto equipped cars. An effecient auto will be in the 15 to 17% range and most manual transmissions in the 12 to 15% area. I've never seen a bone stock 6 speed maxima dyno, but I've seen a couple 350 z's both six speeds and both put down about 255 rwhp. 245rwhp almost seems high, however, I guess its possible they were underrated a bit from the factory? I'm still new to the maxima scene so sorry for the noobert questions. My maxima seems pretty responsive, granted I'm used to my TA so it doesn't feel fast, but it definately doesn't feel like a dog.

edit: based on my SOTP meter I'd guess my car is somewhere around the 225 rwhp area.
edit2: front wheel horsepower...sorry thats a habbit thats gonna take a while to die

hahah yeah...

i talked to my tech again today, explaining possible wiring malfunctions causing the unusually high jump... and trying to get a couple free runs in to verify that nothing was going wrong. he just blabbered on about it being impossible for any kinda malfunction especially since i was right there watching him. he wouldn't budge, and insisted on charging if i were to dyno again. The guy is the cheapest around [$100 flat fee for tuning, $65 for 3pulls] but i still gotta conserve, being a starving college student and all.

if i save up enough to buy a b-pipe and another tuning sess... i'll let you guys know immediately [i'll probably head over to r&d's too]. until then... i'm just gonna go ahead and believe that i'm putting 261 whp and 261 wtq

o btw, he also said the shop has no internet access, so i'm dropping by the shop tomorrow with a usb key to see if i can get the runfiles directly.

Dynoing on Saturday, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Our mods aren't that similar; I have my heavy @ss stock 17s, no UDP, no timing advance.

I would be interested in knowing the results too. Can't wait to receive my VAFC 2 and tune DeMax.
