Code P1320, P0306

Went to autozone today and these are the codes that read on my studdering Max. After reading a bit I believe this to be a fault in the 6th cylinder. I believe it to be the ignition coil....as I've had two go bad so far. My question: where is the 6th cylinder located?

I've also read on here that many of you call DaveB for parts. What does he charge for a coil, how'd you pay the man, and how fast does it ship?

Final two questions:

1) My car makes that unbearable whining sound....that of a loose belt about every 5th time I start it. I know the belts should probably be replaced as I've yet to do that in the 100,000 miles that I've owned the car. Anyone done this, or best to have some do it. Cost with someone else doing it??

2) Yeah, my car needs TLC...I'm back in school...so money is tight, but anyway, my car has started to sound like their are rocks above the two front wheels every time she hits a few bumps. I read somewhere this may be due to bearing around the strut...does that sound right, or does the whole strut need to be replaced??\

Thanks in advance......just happy I can start threads now!!!

First off...be careful about how many new threads you start. Don't want to be starting new ones all the time...only for relevant items.

Second...check the other thread where you discussed the codes pulled at Autozone. I replied to that and it should help you fix that problem.

As far as Dave Burnette goes, just call him up and you pay by credit card or debit card. You will need to sign and authorization to use it and fax it back to him. He can get you good deals on parts, just let him know you are a part of max.org. As far as shipping it can be as fast as you want it to be. I just had him overnight me a MAF. He's a really good guy, I hadn't called him for years and he remembered who I was.

1) Yes get your belts replaced. I personally have not done this, but I hear it is not too difficult. Just takes time and patience if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. I would suggest you get a haynes manual. It will show you step by step what to do, from that you can determine how difficult you think it will be. At 100K I strongly suggest you have your belfts replaced ASAP. When I had mine replaced it was a little over $100.

2) Yes sounds like either your strut bearings are too worn or your struts are blown. When was the last tiime you had the struts replaced? Could be time for new ones...an easy check to see if they are blown is to push down on the front of the car while on the ground and see if it bounces up and down. Good struts will go up and down once, maybe twice, and stop. If its blown the car will bounce up and down quite a bit.

Hope this helps.....

Thanks for your help. Sorry to post so much, I know I'm a newbie, just excited about getting my car fixed up. I'll tone it down a notch.

Looking down at those belts...my initial reaction is just have someone else deal with the hassle....especially if it doesn't cost that much. So I'll probably just do that.

I don't think the struts are blown, but I will do your test to varify. How difficult is replacing the strut bearings? I've never replaced them...but if it isn't too much hassle I may just replace the bearings for now till I get more money in a couple months to replace the whole strut.

I realize I need to buck up the $20 to get the search option on this site...so I can stop haggling you all for stuff that is probably already on this site.

I'm not sure about stock struts, but on my coilovers the strut bearing are a piece of cake to replace. I think the stock is more difficult.

The $20 you would spend for that search option (and more goodies) will more than payoff in the long run due to the extensive knowledge of the peeps on here.
