Turning Stock Rotors

My brakes have started to squeak lately. I plan on getting new pads, but was wondering about rotating my stock rotors. I have around 63,000 miles and have yet to do any brake work since purchasing the car 30,000 miles ago (1.5 years ago). Should I just rotate the stock rotors or should I just replace them with something else? And if so, with what? I also read a thread a bit ago about 6th gen rotors and calipers being a direct bolt upgrade to my 5.5 gen. Is this true? Is the upgrade worth it? And how much is it? Thanks in advance.

Upgrade to the 6th gen brakes, I have yet to hear of someone being upset with them.

I wish I could go 30k without doing brake work. That's a personal fantasy.

BTW when you say 'rotate', do you mean turn the rotors down or literally rotate them around the car like tires?

There are a million threads about what brakes to get.

By rotating stock rotors I mean turn,....

I thought the relocation kit was necessary for 5th generation Maximas (up to 2001) that wanted to use the 2004 rotors and calipers?....Im confused now. So from looking at the Mattblehm website I assuming that I am just upgrading the size of my rotors with 2004 rotors and just relocating my stock calipers. Would you not wanna upgrade to 2004 calipers if you were upgrading to 2004 rotors. Has anyone had any luck with turning stock rotors and getting new pads?

You were thinking right. And the relocation kit on Matt Blehm's site even says "2000-2001 only"

So 2000-2001 will use the stock caliper, relo kit, and 2k4 rotor.

2002-2003 will need 2k4 calipers with 2k4 rotors.

For the record, I'm pretty satisfied with my 2k4 calipers/rotors.
