Speedometer Recalibration?

Speedometer Recalibration?

i got pulled over saturday for doing 18 over... 48 in a 30 zone. my speedometer only said i was doing 40-42, i did up the size of my rims to 18". anyone know a cheap place I can get it recalibrated or what a good price is so i know if im gettin ripped off?

I've never heard of recalibrating your speedometer. What size tire are you running, you should be running around a 235/40/18. Thats about as close to the stock tire as you can get. Maybe someone else can help you.

What size were your stock rims? Here is a GREAT calculator to help figure out if you even need to recalibrate. Put in your stock tire size and then your new tires size and it will tell you the exact MPH difference between your speedometer and you actual speed. GREAT GREAT GREAT site!
