will a 350Z thermostat help?

I'm told the 350Z thermostat runs about 15 degrees cooler than stock. Will it help or hurt a basically stock engine to run that cold? I've heard that running too cold will not allow your engine to keep the proper combustion chamber temperature hence hurting performance. What say ye?

I'll sell you one... I have an extra.

Since it's not much difference it will not hurt performance. If you drive really hard, it may help.

doesnt sound like better to me. nascar runs at something like 230*, so i would take that as higher temps are better in some cases. i would keep it stock, your not going to help performance and you wont get better mileage, so whats the point?

I would think that if your running boost that you would want one but that would be the only reason i could see you needing one

how much do you want for it? Is it a direct swap for a 2000?

Has anyone done any dyno testing or at least seat of the pants or gas mileage testing with a cooler thermostat?

sweet useless post. and by the way, the point of saying what nascar is is to point out that it runs really hot not cold. im not saying we should be at 230, that would be a huge issue. i just dont think that running colder is going to help for power.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm hoping a couple of super mechanics will chime in and give their experiences.
