Let's play the "Diagnose the brake problem" game.

18k miles on the rotors and pads. Passenger side rotor and pads worn normally. Driver's side...not so much.

Pic is the backside of both rotors.

EDIT: BTW...these are iRotors rear discs

Ouch! Looks corroded. What do the pads look like on that side? Almost looks like there wasn't any/much contact of pad to rotor.

The holes were not drilled well causing high spots

The pad didnt contact the rotor very much, but even if there were high spots, after 18k miles it would have worn enough to touch the rotor. I am guessing a stuck caliper.

Correct, the driver's side piston will not retract when I try to colapse it with adaptor tool.

It basically is just the metal part of the pad with the pad portion missing.

Maybe you pull your e-brake too much when taking turns. Thus, you get a stuck caliper. I suggest you stop using e-brake as much, especially at high speeds.

Wonder if I could get mine replaced under warrantee???

I'm over 60k now and I doubt the calipers are covered under powertrain. lol Though Infiniti's service kicks major @ss.

Oh well, calipers are pretty cheap to come by. I will have to repaint them though.

Mine are being covered under my extended warranty. The price of a rear caliper alone is $350 via Nissan = not cheap to come by IMO.

Thats why I wouldn't get it through Nissan.

Thanks for the info about the extended warrantee though. Maybe Ill bring my car to the dealership and try to do some convincing.

You just have to be interested in a car in the lot aka: 350Z, whatever. Talk to a sales rep and they will arange for you to take that car off the lot while your is in the shop. Works great.

This car is a sled. It's almost like you basically need to keep the car in passing gear to stay up to freeway speeds. Not to mention the handling is HORRIBLE.

This is going to be a long couple of days driving this POS.

So Germain called me this morning saying that they are almost done with my car repairs. The caliper was replaced, but they said something about having issues bleeding the brakes since there is no pad left on that side. I mentioned that I'm buying new pads and already have new rotors, so I could just bring in the new rotors and have them swap them out and put on the new pads and she said that was fine, but they'd charge me $140 TO SWAP PADS AND ROTORS!!! No way, so now I'm waiting to hear when my car will be done so I can put it back together myself in my garage in 20 minutes for free.

So, I get the car back today after it's been at Nissan since Monday and this is what I see when I get home. A big scrape in my brand new wheels and they installed the wrong lugnuts. How the hell do you install the wrong lugnuts when they're sitting right next to the car? I'm so pissed off right now. I called and spoke with a service tech who is apparently registered on OhioNissans, and he's going to follow up with the tech that was taking care of me as well as the service manager on Monday.
