The Myths are true - G35c 18" rims installed and smoked tails!

I know i know, Thread is worthless without pics. Pics coming soon, just wanted to clean car. I have a pic but its with car still hoisted up and the gap looks ugly.

Now onto the myths. I'm so happy at the way these rims and tails make the car look. I'm going for the smokey/gunmetal look. smoked sidemarkers, smoked tails, AE headlights. The rims not only fit perfectly but the offset looks really nice. No spacers needed for this bad boy. Looks like it aligns wit the fender. The ride was smooth on the tires i got with the rims (yokohoma Es 100) with really good thread left, atleast 90%. And they are not noisy even though some reviews say they are.

Problems with rims is i got one that had a few scratches on it. Also, the myth about the back caps was true. They fit but not all the way. i just drove about 20 miles on highway and they didnt fall off so i think i'm with the way they are. They compliment my drop so well. I can only fit a finger in the front and 2 in the back. Its just like my sprint drop on my old 97 max except a much better ride. Also, with heavy bumps, my back tires scratch the fender as predicted by many org members (irish and others). I know what i must do and will take the proper steps to eliminate this problem. I'm running 245/45/18 in the rear and 225/45/18 in the front. These are summer tires too so i will probably abuse them until the early winter when i'll get the right size for my car (235/40/18). Overall, i'm VERY happy wit the purchase. Now i just gotta get an alignment.

As far as my tail lights, i got them from hct67 on the org a few months back. They are 2k2 tail lights, smoked and the turn signal has been turned red. Looks really good. I was debating between this and my stock black one's. Although the other looks really good (makes my car look newer) this setup i have now works better for the style i'm trying to give my car, that smoke look. However, no one told me the dam 2k2 harness bulbs are different from 2k1. 2 bulbs fit but the turn signal does not. so i ordered a set of harnesses from daveb for 41 bucks shipped and will be throwing that in by the end of the week. Only thing i need are brighter bulbs. the ones i have work but i would like them brighter to avoid police trouble.

Can anyone tell me the bulb sizes for stock 2k2 and where i can get brighter bulbs. Mainly needed for the brake and turn signal but will take a set for reverse if price is pretty good.

Well thats my update. I havent taken much pics cause i lost my camera and an accident my car was in a few months back made me hate my car. but tomorrow after a good wash i'll snap some.

I was thinking about opening the tails and switching the back parts cause it looks like they could be seperated there but i just gave in and bought new harnesses. BTW i'll have a set of stock tails in super MINT condition for sale for anyone thats interested.

Thanks for looking.

now time for pics

I'm debating to keep these tails or put the others back. I like the smoke look cause its keeping the theme of the car but i wish i could see the red in the tails better without the lights. My camera phone sucks so everything like duller than it really is (stupid nextel i930) but so far i've received a lot of compliments from local members...

what do u guys think?

looks great... i agree that the smoke tails are cool but kinda too much... would have been better to just have them redded out.

Is there any way to remove the smoked paint?

looking good.

yea, i wish. I think the only way to get around it is to find another set of 2k2's and just switch the outer lense but I'll try to get used to this before i shed more dough on that type of project. Unless someone has a better way of removing the smoke, or just making it lighter.

BTW, i think the smoke would look much better on your car since its gray lustre

i got them on ebay from a guy called save on wheels. I paid 665 shipped for them, made a quick deal before the auction ended and no one was bidding. The back caps fit but not all the way. There is like a .1 to .2 millimeter stick out and i was worried they would pop out when i hit big bump or something but they are still in there snug.

665 is kind of high for these rims but they came with really good tires, ultra performance summer and 90+ thread. Yokohoma ES 100's

they are the real ones, 18X8. I have rubbing issues too but only when i hit big bumps. Yea the tails are questionable, but i love them at night, just hate them during the day.

did you have to get the "hub centric rings"? cause i know you do on most rims but wasn't sure if you needed them since "infiniti" and "nissan" are in the same family????

Wheels look nice -

Guess I'll be the first to ask - how much for your old tails/harnesses? Dibs if you're selling and the price is right.

well i just paid 42 shipped for the new harness, i would expect almost the same for my old setup since i'll have to spend that much again if i want to go back to stock (which i doubt). Still debating on whats a good price for the combo. They are super mint, i love them. PM me an offer and we'll work from there.

I didnt need anything for these to fit, no hubcentric rings or anything. The offset is like 30 so it aligns with the fender pretty well without any spacers.
