I'm not sure where I checked or read this but I heard that some people had problems with the 5-speeds on their Maxy's. As most of you guys know I'm a newbie, I just bought my Maxy a few weeks ago, I checked the VIN with Nissan and there are no recalls on anything, betsta not be lien to me, any one know about this issue, oh yah I don't have a problem with my 5-speed so far and I think it rox, as new as I am to the Maxima, heck I just got my license lol, I feel that I look very much lower on people with 5-speeds who pimp them out, sorry, its just strange how you race in a 5-speed, i mean let up off the gas and it drives, hehehe, well if anyone has info please post, thanks again to all the Maxima.org people for making me feel @home :-)

I think you might be referring to the "fuel-cut" issue on 5th Gen 5-spd Max's. Just use the search function - I'm sure there's many threads out there on this issue. The problem is that you can't hold the engine at a steady rpm between like 1500-3000rpm or something like that - I dunno. Just search. Congrats on your new Max!!

hehehe yah well actually i only drove the honda for a couple months during the time i had my learners permit before my maxy, and as soon as i got license i got the maxima, but the HONDA SUX, its a 94 ex accord with a v-tec engine and no mods, i swear like the rent-a-cars pass me while accelerating in that, talk about racing hehehe, seriously to mod the car to have a decent amount of acceleration hehehe, you would have to add like thousands and it would still be slower than a maxima with 5 people pulling a damn rig haha, thanks guys i can rest now with peace of mind that my maxima is ok, my baby Eleanor *ehem*ehem* gone in 60 seconds *ehem*ehem*

Thanks for the compliment, punkdork. It's nice to be welcomed here even if one is in fact "the enemy"

Stevepake, you sound like a competent dude that see things from all sides. Can't say that to all the Honda folks here in So-Cal area. Their vision is obstructed by their noses. I don't post or respond much, just only when something that is revelant to the conversation will evoke a reply.
