Intake Question???
Intake Question???
I've just installed my Injen cold air intake and have a question. One of my boyz was tellin' me that I could use the AEM bypass valve on the Injen intake. Just wanted to know if this was true or not?
You can use it, but I think it's a waste if you don't plan on driving through big puddles of water. I have mines on with and I've driving through some water, but to damage your car you would probably need to drive through at least 1ft of water.
Now that the flaming is done: you don't need it. I have an Injen that I've driven with for 65,000 miles with no issues. Just make sure you keep the hose from the intake to the valve cover in place and don't try to plug it. Your MAF reads the air flow before the hose and the computer factors in the bleed-off through the hose.
If you are worried about water try the hydro shield. it's a water repellant sock that goes over the injen. But I agree with gbauer. I drove with my injen all winter and just cleaned the filter for the first time a few days ago. It still looks brand new after oiling. Unless you plan on driving into a lake you won't suck any water

i hope you have an optima or else you'll be picking up all the acid that the battery pisses

2) the tranny breather is right next to the scary battery so this makes no differance
3) If your battery is "pissing acid" you should get that checked out
4) Took the intake off and put the stock airbox back in and the car runs much better.
IMO
