Ebay's E46 angeleyes installed !

Hi folks!

I just installed some E46 LED angeleyes found on Ebay. Since it's freezing here during winter, I didn't wanted to get the Unmitza angeleyes...seems that a lot of people are having cold weather issues

On this link, you'll find pics/comments of the installation...and oh!! sorry if my english isn't perfect ...french is my first language.

$25 and they work fine. That's far more than I can say about my Umnitzas.

Yes, but the output itself doesn't look bad, if were a different color, would look great.

That's because he specifically ordered the "Blue" ones!

Glad to see another excellent writeup nice job Saucisse! , I ordered a "white" set, can't wait to get them in, they look great, durable and cheap! I'll post pics when I get my "White's" installed. I know there are one or two others who have chosen to go this route rather than the Umnitzas. Here's the ebay link:

Not too shabby, they don't look as thin as the Umnitza's but for the price who's complaining?

Could this be wired so when you turn on the parking lights that would turn on as well? Or did you just intentionally wire it so it has its own switch?

Also, which particular glue did you use to attach the DDE's and the headlamp back together?

Yea, I don't like the blue either, but different strokes for different folks. Still, I'd like to see what they look like in white. Maybe MAXRB8 will post some pics once he gets his installed?

I wore rubber gloves while installing my DDE's too. It keeps the insides of your headlight much cleaner (no skin oils) and also keeps you from gluing your fingers to the headlight.

You can wire them the way you want.... mine has its own switch. I used Lepage 5 Flexible Plastic Adhesive...first time I see this glue.... thanks to the Home Depot guy who told me this glue don't become yellow when drying....he found out himself the hard way after ruining a set and those rings on is Maxima

...and yes gloves are quite helpfull...no sticky fingers and no finger prints on the flat black paint

Wait a second...you actually talked to a guy at Home Depot who's put angel eyes on his Maxima? Lol, most of the guys at my HD are way too old to know anything about that.

Looks good. Maybe I should go this route since its so cheap. Right now my umnitza's are fried b/c of cold weather issues. Sucks living in Canada

It would be great to get some feedback after you've had them for a couple months.

Stuck with 2000?

Tell you what, trailer it over to me in Dallas, and I'll take it off your hands. I don't want you to have to suffer like that.

I have been looking for something like this for a while. The Umnitza's are way too much $ for e to spend right now. I think I might have to get a set. Does it matter if you buy E46 coupe or sedan--dumb question but need to make sure.

Had umnitzas in chicago winter no problem. if you install em right you shouldn't have a problem. These things look to big on the lights plus they're gonna burn out fast.
To blue for my taste.

i like the angel eyes..although i dont like blue..they still look really good especially when considering the price compared to the umnitza ones..i would have gone with red (for agressive); white for (clean)' hell even yellow (for classy). But definitley a great product for the money

If anyone is worried abotu burning out their angeleye rings..just put on a resistor to limit the amount of current that you put into those. A+ job though.

Im not sure you have any idea about what you are talking about. Those are LED's. Most of which have a life cycle of about 30,000 hours. Much longer than DDE's.

HMMM... Took a look at these on ebay. Anyone know what size we need? Saucisse says he used the E46 which are 14.5 and 13.2 cm . The E36 are 13cm and 11 cm....

No needs to...there a voltage regulator on the wiring...just plug to 12v and ground and it works fine

My God, I am so getting these. This is sooooooo much better than paying $175 for DDEs. I never did understand the reason for ballasts with DDEs, when a nice LED ring + body ground would do the same thing.
