"Fuel Master" device?

Has anyone here tried the $25 "Fuel Master" device. Looks like it could be a gimmic, but there is a 90 day money back offer. Depending on responses, I may be willing to be a test subject for the device and report results.

Perhaps someone else has already tried this?

"Unlike additives which must be used over and over, just a one time installation of Fuel Master will keep the engine and fuel injectors clean for the life of your vehicle."

By... breaking up clusters of hydrocarbons in your fuel? Hmm... Well, if it's based on Einstein, it must be true.

"If you use high octane fuel to improve engine performance and reduce “pinging” once Fuel Master is installed use regular octane (unless otherwise specified by vehicle manufacturer)."

So... basically they're saying that if you're using high octane fuel to prevent pinging in a car that shouldn't need high octane fuel (i.e., your car is broken), this thing will fix whatever is wrong (timing, stuck EGR valve, pre-existing deposits, etc.), and it will allow you to stop using high octane fuel.

I just don't buy it. Get one and see if it works. I think this is going to be about as effective as those stupid Tornado fuel savers.

Agreed... It could be nothing. I would not stop running 91 octane (it even imply's this does not change "Mfr's recommendations", but I think I will volunteer for the trial. I may even contact the Mfr., and see if they would be willing to issue one to me for free, by mentioning Maxima.org as a potential source for many sales if it indeed works for me.

With 91 now at $2.85 here in Southern N.H. (up $0.30 in 15 days) and looking at at least $3.50 by June 1, It's worth my time to help other Max owners if it works...

Stay tuned... I'll bump with updates in a few days...

and to U.S. refiners, state and local Govt that won't lower gas taxes...

if you read the product description, you actually need ( according to them ) the Fuel Master XL, since the engine has more than 16 valves
Fuel Master XL......suggested for 4 and 6 cylinders with 16 valves or more V 6 and up

It's a simple question "Sooner" if it looks like it's worth a search I'll do one from outside the ORg (I can not search here). If this is not a topic you are interested in, please mind your own...

Skier, there are literally dozens of threads about Seafoam, so some older board members get a bit tired of seeing new ones.

If you want to read about what Seafoam is and how you should use it, check the Fluids and Lubricants section of the Org.
