Any electrical connections? Looks mid 80s vintage to me.

You can tell from the driver's side axle seal that its a VLSD tranny. A normal maxima tranny usually has seals that are relatively the same size on both sides

Oh, I know this because I changed that seal before on my AE Most likely from a Anniversary Edition 5th gen

Thanks Larrio, that is what I was hoping for, it seems to be completely new, never installed, so I took a chance and bought it. I want to put this in my 2k. Right now I'm looking to put a TransGo Transmission Heavy Duty Reprogramming Kit to make it more durable. Anyone have any other suggestions in making it stronger and more efficient? Will I need a driver side axle or any other parts?

You will need the driver's side axle since it is different from normal maxima axles.

I'd suggest a valvebody upgrade to improve on shifts and less slippage at high rpms

The Transgo Kit shifts faster and reduces gear overlap, at least it is supposed to. Clicky
