Poll: How many folks have had to replace their motor mounts

I have a 2K max, and I kind of didn't realize my front struts were slowly dieing before finally replacing them recently. Now inspite of replacing the struts, sometimes at slow speeds there is this shake from the front.

I am guessing the motor mounts i.e front and back needs replacement. How many of 2K folks have had to replace their motor mounts and with little of 100K is it normal for the mounts to be shot.

I was looking thro the 4th gen forums, and not many have had to replace their motor mounts... kind of sucks to have bought the 2K max, seems to be riddled with problems.

I would consider it a dire necessity to change the mounts, but the sotck ones are crap. The sooner you swicth them out to the ES mounts, ther better off youll be. You can do it yourself too.

......and most cars are riddled with problems. You also bought the first model year for the new body style. Trust me, our problems are minor compared to other vehicles. You still got one of the best frikkin engines out there! There are only minor tweaks (with concern for aftermarket enhancements) that need to be done to make it sing. Ive owned the 5 & 5.5 gen and I can tell ya that if I had to choose all over again, id still pick what I picked. Course, I sure as hell wouldnt be toolin around in one of those ugly a$$ 6th gens.......

I have a AT and the mounts on the cross member are electronically controlled. Can ES mounts can be installed on them, since the website says it is for MT vehicles only.

Can someone confirm is there are any aftermarket mounts better and cheaper than the OEM ones for AT vehicles. FYI, I got a quote for $180 and $215 for the front and rear mounts, damn are these so expensive!!

Today I was driving from San Jose to San Francisco to meet my old friend who came in for a conference, and 101N is not a pretty road to drive, for someone in the Bay Area to justify my comments.

Nevertheless, I felt the engine block jump when I was going over pretty bumpy highway sections, I want to be sure it is the mounts that is making me feel quite uncomfortable inside. I am going to get under the car and check if there are any oil leaks etc. near the mounts but wont be surprised if I don't find any oil there since the oil filled struts failed before it could spew oil.

Is there something obvious to look for to determine the mounts are really dieing? Mounts is something I haven't had to deal with in old Civic!!!

Well, the ES mounts are for MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS ONLY. I dont know of any others that make them for AT's. I wouldnt trust anyone other than ES. Contact Brian Catts to purchase them for the MT, just fyi.
