tokico hp shocks??

So here's the thing, I had progress spings with stock shocks for 60000 miles with no problems, so I decided I wanted the front a little lower so i bought tein s tech's and decided to put new shocks/struts.(tokico hp) Installed 3 weeks ago and the back struts are blown already. Anyone have a similiar experience with these shocks and did tokico send you new ones????

you should have gotten the illuminas for lowering springs. the hp aren't really meant to go with lowering springs. i've had them with stock springs tho and they're fine.

That's pretty weird, really -- because the HPs are actually a very stiff spring. And while Tokico advertises their use for only a drop of up to 1.5'' -- I've seen people run HPs for thousands of miles without any issues. Tokico won't warranty the work because once they take apart the strut, they'll see that it was sitting on something lower than 1.5''.

Tokico illuminas are the exact same strut as hps only adjustable. People try to make the illuminas out to be some extra heavy duty shock compared to hp's. Only difference is the adjustablilty. People have blown illuminas also with sports springs, I think Housecor did. I believe progress springs drop to low for illuminas or hp, but that's just my opinion.
