Part # - Steering Bump Stop
i got this from the sticky: Solution (courtesy of irish44j) - check out the bump stops on the back of the steering knuckle - where it "bumps" into the lower control arm at the turn limit. The plastic cap will probably either be missing or worn through.
Part #40039-D0100, description "cap - stop", cost $1.44
I looked it up on courtesy nissan and it says not found. anyone know that part number for a 2002? I asked 2 local dealers and they had no idea what i was talking about, but i guess this silly little cap is hard to describe over the phone.

Call Dave B....why bother with courtesy nissan...Dave knows the part. Actually, this time I ordered, he suggested using the xterra bump stops, which have a metal cap and won't wear through as fast.
He sent them to me, but I haven't tried them yet...they look like the correct size, though.
