Hub Rings

Are these metal wires used in the installation? TireRack sent them but my previous wheels never had the metal wires, just the rings.

You saying to put the wire on the outside of the ring and insert into the wheel? I don't see how that is possible since you have to force the ring into the position anyway.

Also, I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that the MM Evo 5s don't need a hub ring?

You are suppose to insert the ring and then the wire onto the wheel. Wire is used to secure the ring in place.

I see now. How come they wheels didn't come with a wire when they are initially bought?

some hub rings fit snug enough that you don't need wires to hold them in place. With my SSRs, I use the wires. With my Volks, I don't use the wires. If hub rings fit tightly, you don't have to use them wires.
