TAILS

I NEVER GET BOTHERED SINCE I DO A GOOD JOB, AND IT LOOKS LIKE AN ORIGINAL LIGHT, SECOND, NOT THE WHOLE LIGHT IS TINTED SO COPS CAN'T SAY THOSE ARE COVERS.
ALSO, IT'S TINT SO UPCLOSE U CAN SEE RED THRU IT, IT LOOKS PITCH BLACK ONLY FROM DISTANCE.

Your tinted tails are sick!!...(in a good way) I have a GXE and want to do the same. Do you think I can black out the outer edge so it'll look like the SE? Also, how did you spray it? did you take the tails out? i was reading some articles and it says to spray from the top and let it flow down. is it easy to spray?

Also, my friend says it's illegal to put something over the factory lights. can i just say like it's an aftermarket item or something if a cop pulls me over?

looks clean...what kind tint did you use and was it difficult to apply? People are saying spray, it's tint right? I was planning on "blacking out" the rear outer...keeping the red part(brake).

Would it be possable to tint the front headlights to imitate the AE bronze color, I'm guessing proabably not since it's glass vs. plastic?

TINT

I wouldn't spray the headlights.
I do have a SE, and all i tinted was the red semi-circle in the tails. i did not remove the tails, i just covered up the rest. it's not that totally pitch black,in the sun u could see red thru it. it looks hot in the shade or far away when it matches the rest of the tinted SE tails.
i used the special tint spray for lights that lets the light thru. it;s called Tint shades.
thnx for the comments.
One Love.

just wondering if i should buy a set of SE tails and spray the red semi circle. it costs $98 for a pair at Nissan. maybe i can pick one up from an auction or something for cheaper. or is there an aftermarket tail?

i wouldn't

No need to buy, if u know how to take out the tails then take them out, it will be easier for you to spray, and spray the whole light, and it will all look like factory.
i personally always leave the reverse part unpainted, and in this case the blinker part too.
it's up to you, u can always buy new, so do it if u mess these up.
good luck

yea, i prolly won't buy the SE lights. I found this one place that sells the removeable type of spray tint for $28 made in japan. is that a good price? I called several places around here and so far that was the only place that carries it. i'll probably pick it up tomorrow. did you use any specific material to cover up the outer edge of the tail? much mahalo for your help!

i was doing some research (i'm all paranoid and stuff) and in Kali, the code says "Taillamps shall be red in color and shall be plainly visible from all distances within 500 feet to the rear except that taillamps on vehicles manufactured after Jan 1, 1969, shall be plainly visible from all distances within 1,000 feet to the rear."

so i guess i can lightly tint it and still have it look a little red. what to do???

yea, i just saw an old Beretta and it also has smoked out tails, but u still could faintly see the red. i'll prolly just go for it.

i also tried to see if i could take out the tails so it'll be easier to spray, but i didn't want to mess up the trunk lining. i also noticed that the red semi circle is actually a snap on b/c if u look closely, it says "top".
