Cant reset ecu / get code! Even with write up

Using studmans write up on how to reset the 2002+ ECU, I cant get it to work on my '02 max se.

1.With the car off, release the gas pedal completely
2.Turn the key to the ignition position and wait 3 seconds
3.Do this 5 times within 5 seconds
a)press the gas poedal all the wya ot the floor
b)release gas pedal completely
4.Wait 7 seconds, the press gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold for 10 seconds
5.When the SES/MIL light starts flashing, release the gas pedal
6.Press and hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor for more than 10 seconds
7.When the ses/mil light starts to flash again, release the gas pedal
8.
9.
10.

The SES light never starts to flash..
am I misinterpreting something here?

Anyone else have a problem with this?

The timing is crucial, I only got it to work once so I gave up and got this: ( the actual one! best deal I could find and it works awesome, definitions built in is a plus and it's CAN, do some readin gup and you'll find this is a great unit for the price, same shipping cost to Canada)

If you have a laptop there are some really good laptop programs but they cost quite a bit more $$$ but do more!
