auto to 6speed swap?

I have a 2k2 auto...really wanting to buy a 6speed the end of this year. Just a thought...anyone ever inquire or know how much it would cost to get an auto switched to a 6speed? I know its A LOT of work..but i would def get it done by nissan the right way. any idea of the cost? ballpark?

just do what i did, trade that automagic on for the 6 speed. the deal was basically a wash 3 bucks more a month. i think it would be better to just trade in imo

well, i wouldnt have it done by nissan, but would have it done by someone that knows a 5-speed swap. talk to turbo95max, hes actually doing this on my car right now and should know how much work. im going to post a list of parts as soon as hes finished, but parts are coming to about 3k for me. not cheap but youll probly save money from a trade in.

save money from a trade in, probably. save money from selling your car and buying a 6speed, probably not. imo, just buy a 6speed. if you do the swap youll be out a car for a good amount of time, not to mention the labor is gonna cost you a boat load unless you have an inside man. also, id think if you ever sold your tranny swapped car, itd be a little harder to sell at the price you want. some people are just scared of things like that.

I read a thread about the swap. Lots of issues. You will be better off with selling your car and buying a 6-speed...

just dont tell them its been done. its cheaper for me because i would need practically 1 thousand dollars worth of work done to get a new car in the same position my car is in now. that and the money i would lose made it worth it. im having a guy here do it for about 750 labor and a little under 3k for parts. its worth it, and even if the price was a little more, its worth it just because i dont have to deal with selling my car private party and finding a 6spd max. if you have stuff done to your car or 6spds around you are going for a lot or you know somebody to do it cheap or if you wont be able to find a 6spd, id suggest at least looking deeply into the swap. i should have a parts list up on the .org this weekend.

well i still owe a LOT on my car a few grand more than its worth right now so i think im just gonna wait till the end of this year and sell it and buy a 6speed...than ill have a few extra grand to pay this off. i would def get a warranty though, anyone ever heard of a car warranty company called "warranty direct"? seems to be a good company. opinions?
