Possible shifter

Ok i dont like the big ugly 00-01 shifter; so im thinking of getting the AE shifter since i cant do a 5 speed swap unless i find a totaled 2000 but what would i need to purchase and also where else can i purchase these so i dont get ripped a new one by the stealer got a price of 400 big ones

for those who may no know what it looks like and neither did i till a few moments ago

Good luck trying to install the AE shifter. It's not all that easy as you might think. It's not a direct swap. The AE requires much modification in fitting into the stock shifter. And, once you start modifying, there's no turning back to the original shifter. You have to buy a new assembly and shifter. I had bought an AE shifter off eBay, and then sold it because of the work involved in trying to do the swap. Not worth it. Good luck, though.

i know i have to get the entire assembly that reason for such a price from stealer so it might be easier to replace the assembly than just the shifter but the junk yards here dont have any maxima wrecks in any sense at all so ill have to hit nationwide junk yards
