OK, so I'm planning to add a Stillen AeroKit to my new "baby" and I have a few questions:

1. How hard is it to install the kit myself? And would you recommend do-it-yourself?

2. I know theurethane has to be cleaned and prepped and painted, how hard is that?

3. If it's a pain in the *** to install yourself (which I have a feeling it will be for a non-mechanic like me), who do you recommend in Seattle/King County to do the work? I'm looking for surgeon-quality installation pro's.

4. How do I go about checking on a shop's "rep" to make sure I won't get screwed on the install (mechanically or financially)?

5. What's the best price on this kit? Stillen quoted me $860.00

Thanks much

1) Not too hard, but since you have to pre-fit the kit before painting you should get a feel for it. Also, don't be afraid to drill holes in your car. If not, your shop should be able to install it really quickly and really cheap.

2) Get a professional paint job at a body shop. You need to clean and prep it, then paint (w/flex agent). The same shop should be able to do the install cheap or free. Painting itself isn't hard if you already own a body shop, but since I don't think any of us do I would NOT do it.

Dunno about 3 and 4...

5) Some people have paid as low as $600 at Stillen Open House (I think it was that low), others have bought it used for less. $860 is pretty close to retail. Tony, would you know?

1) Easy to pre-fit, but I wouldn't want to mess up install the kit myself. I've thought about installing it myself, but the extra $$$ spent is well worth it. Don't want to stare at your mistakes everytime you look at your car, right?

2) The shop will do all that for you. Just make sure you tell/ask them to ease your mind.

3) ???

4) Go in, look at what cars are there, see if they're working on any cars, etc. Basically spy on them...

5) I paid $805 at Maxima Day. Seen cheaper prices for the most recent group deal.

Hope this helps!
