(semi) mini interior project

OK next Friday I am putting the max in one of the local high school car shows. I really want it to look good, hopefully win some stuff. I been meaning to do this project for awhile, figure now is a good time. I am going to refinish a bunch of pieces including: 4 window/locks switch moldings,4 door handle moldings, shift gate, bottom of shift ****, coin holder/power outlet molding and door and the keyring molding. I also put in 2 blacklights under the front and pass dash, and an aluminum gauge bezel. interior bulbs are now polargs.

I was thinking put all the interior parts besides the shift gate a grey metallic (clear coat) and the shift gate like sheer silver. What about the door handle moldings? I want those to stand out I think it will look cool. any color ideas? (I work at a body shop i can get any color i want)

Don't even bother... rice buckets will receive much more attention at that "school car show."

You could add to you list: paint the mud flaps and install clear corners, but only if you wanna do it for yourself.

Yea, some high schools are rediculous. The somewhat "snobby" town next to mine is only populated with bmw, lexus, and mercedes. The second the little snobs turn 16, a new bimer is in their driveway, its a joke.

yeah i grew up next to a snot town and all the little snots at the high school in the town over had bmw and other junk like that.....of course they all wrecked them cause 16 year olds suck at driving...especially when you put them behind the wheel of a sports car.....parents either dont care of want thier kids to grow up with no sense of money or responsibility....haha my parents started me off on a chevette...aww yeah. my vette haha....good times .....what a beater.

Having a sick car and getting all the chicks has nothing in common... ...but then, if you look at the new generation of females... ...yea, never mind...

I was being horribly sarcastic

It was a fun little 60hp car though, gave me my initial love of Nissan.

Well if you mean nicest as cleanest, most well taken care of, or classiest, than I could say I have the nicest car in the parking lot.

I know, you came to that small home depot meet in the summer for like 5 minutes or something I think, spin20 told me. I'm talking about ardsley, although I have a few friends in armonk and when I go there, every car is either a mercedes or bmw.

one of the girls at my old hs has the new supercharged rangerover, theres also an escalade esv, about 30 brand new A4's, a bunch of new 3 series, an 2 03 GLEs, one that my backed into my gf's jetta once, etc..

Also, when you paint the interior pieces, make sure they match the outside of the car. If they do, then that grey and silver combo should look sick

whooaaaa whats with the beatin up on the high school car show??? I'm running the show at my school (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=470088) to raise money for the senior class and trust me, this is not a ricer show. Its true we do have a few ricers, (RSX with lambo doors) but kids in my school are loaded and their cars are no joke. Even with the maxima im jealous as hell.

For example these are some cars that will be appearing at the show: 4 STis, 2 evos, 2 S4s, accord v6 with coilovers, gram lights and brembo bbk, and tons of Audis, VWs and Bimmers, modded too. The show isnt just high school kids either, its open to the community, family members, etc so there will be muscle cars, hot rods and historic cars as well. This isnt some ricer chill in the parking lot car show. A lot of work has been put into getting sponsors, cars registered, raffles, etc, so please dont be making fun of it if you dont even know what its about.

I invited Y2kMaxSE to represent the maximas since mine is the only one in the show and he's tryin to work on his car and get some more mods done. I'd appreciate it if you spent more time actually helping him with his question than making fun of the show.....

now, back on topic.....

Y2KmaxSE: Paint the pieces to which YOU think fits best with the theme you're trying to pull off. I say go for what needs to be done to pull off that show quality finish. GL with the show.

Sounds like a good cause. It sure as hell beats doing carwashes at the local autozone to raise some funds.

OK I am painting the pieces tomorrow. I am doing all the pieces in 2 different 2004 Nissan colors. all the pieces except the door handle moldings and shift gate are getting a highly metallic grey similar to that charcoal grey..but more metallic and little deeper color. The shift gate and door handle moldings are getting like titanium silver...i am doing a base/clear paint so it will look just like the outside of the car. When I get them painted, than put back on I will post more pics.
But yea as sublimer said, this show is supposed to be sick. I dont expect to win anything with the cars that are there, but thats not the point. Sublimer and I will be representing the Maximas and the org so thats what Im happy about.
PS, Sublimer thanks for above.

Comments? I am very overall happy with the outcome, next is to paint the interior door handles themselves to match and also the grey trim around the HVAC and radio.
