HELP! Window stopped working In the Down Position
Hey wassup, i've been recently running into window problems with the rear driver side window..it is VVVVERY slow and most of the time it doesn't even open, but it did today and now it doesnt close....all my other windows work fine....when i try to close it i dont even hear anything going on. it as if it lost power.....anyone had this problem or know what the freakin problem is? the window is open way too far, im scared someone will try to steal something while parked... thanks!

For now try this. Grab the window with both hands and pull up with it hard. You're not going to move it but you move the motor just a little. Move it up and down a little and try it. If it works keep the window up until u can get a new motor. Hopefully this works. If nt then you will have to rip the door panel off. good luck.

have you looked at the switch panel? when my passenger side got electrical burn, it would not work at all, then it will work down, on the up trip it will be slow and stop halfway trough...

i had the same problem on my car and it is the window regulator. The window use to move really slowely and then stop. if you wait a little it will move a little that way you could at least close it. keep the ignition on. Wait 5 min pull it up, wait 5 more pull it up.

I think you took the door panel off to check? If not, I had a 95, and first the windows werent working right, and then they stopped all together. After a lot of thinking and calling places, I took the door panel off. What happened was when I installed the speakers in the door, the wiring harness wasn't clipped into place on the under side of the window switches because the clip was broken. All I had to do was plug it back in and secure it.

I went through this exact problem on another one of my vehicles (not maxima). If you have taken the door panel off, check to see if you have voltage at the motor when you hit the switch. If you do, then either your motor is fried or else something is mechanically binding. If you don't, it is the switch.
Also, when my window was stuck in the down postion, there was no way in hell that I could physically get the window up without either getting the motor working or mechanically disconnecting the window from the motor.

I had this problem with my rear passenger side window. It turns out that when i installed my speakers in the front doors i didnt plug the harness back in all the way. so, i took the panel off the drivers door and made sure the harnesses were all pl;ugged in securely. that fixed my problem. hope it helps yours.
