Radio static w/ defrost

I've been searching and haven't seen any similar problems, but my radio goes very staticy (spelling) when the defrost is turned on. I know the radio antenna is on the rear glass, but I don't know how this is affected by the defroster. Anyone ever experienced this before?

i had the same problem with my 00 SE. i think it might have something to do with when i took off some tint adhesive with the rough side of a sponge because before that it was fine.

I have the same prob, just too lazy to fix it, so I got Sirius instead. It's most likey a problem with the rear defrosted, that is where our antenna is. Check to make sure that all the lines are working. You can fix them with a special paint that they sell at RadioShack.

While using the defrost I only see one line not working, and its one of the shorter, lower lines. About 1 foot in length. I didn't assume this could cause such a bad noise but maybe i'll try fixing that first. Thanks for the replies.

I think the shorter line you speak of may be the antenna... Therefore it will not defrost.

Like was already said, check all the lines for breaks.

BTW, do you have tint? I've heard that highly metalized films can mess with reception.
