Z32 Maf Swap Questions

I have been reading up in the turbo section and many have swapped in a z32 maf (TT 300zx). I'm planning on getting a new throttle body, injectors, upgraded fuel system, and then this z32 maf.

Has anyone here done this that would care to give me a few words of wisdom? Where can I get one for cheap, any install problems, what kind of ECU upgrades do I need?

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks,

DF

PS: I'm not turbo'd, but I have a feeling my MAF will blow will more power, I read somewhere it was good to 270hpish.

You won't get 270hp with the mods you have listed, so no need to worry about this.

I don't see how it could be much different then the one in the max already. They are both 3.0L DOHC engines, and the MAF for the 300zx is the same for all 90-96 models turbo or not. Size wise they look about the same diameter.

I know I don't have 270hp, I doubt I have 250hp, but I'm hoping to be going to forced induction in the next couple of years. That would certainly give me over 270hp.

Does this MAF work with the stock ECU, I find it hard to imagine that I can just plug in the z32 and it'll work fine.

if they are a different part numbers then you will need something like a SAFCII to trick your ecu into working with the z32 MAFS. it will not work with the stock ecu just plug and play.

Admin, can you switch this over to the turbo section?

No reason for me to post this twice.

Thanks,

DF
